About these sessions

“We sometimes think friction is a punishment. Friction is information.”

Frequency of Alignment · Eve of the Lunar New Year, 2026

Every body keeps time. Breath, heartbeat, the slow waves of digestion: each has its own tempo, and a hard week pushes all of them toward a rushed, ragged rhythm. As a musician, I hear the body’s rhythms like I hear an orchestra playing out of time with itself. These sessions help you come back into your rhythmic alignment again.

Most begin with the organizing power of your breath. Slow your breathing to five or six breaths a minute, and notice how the heart rate slows. (It’s a physiological phenomenon: slower breathing initiates slower heart rate.) Drop the day’s burdens from your mind. Imagine a golden cord descending from the base of your spine grounding deep into the earth. Rest a hand on your belly and ask of each sensation, “Is this mine to hold?” Let whatever isn’t yours ride out on the outgoing breath, and let the bowls carry the rest.

Some weeks ask for a reset more loudly than others. (The day before the session titled Frequency of Alignment, I broke two glass dishes—including a water carafe that split cleanly in two—not on accident, but by the current flowing incoherently through my space.) On those mornings the bowls tend to slow everything down: long tones, wide spaces, room to land. Sound knows how to find us.

Come as you are, wired or weary. Sit or lie down. Listen with your whole body, your pores and bones and heart, and know there is no right way to do this. Leave with a reset you can carry into any day: one hand on the belly, one slow breath, one long hum.

About sound baths for stress

Can a sound bath help with stress and anxiety?

Many people find that slow breathing and long, steady tones help them feel calmer. These sessions pair the two: a guided breath practice carried by music improvised on crystal singing bowls. They are a wellness practice, not a treatment. If anxiety is shaping your daily life, please talk with a licensed professional as well.

What is resonant breathing?

Breathing at about five to six breaths a minute, roughly five and a half seconds in and five and a half seconds out. Charleene teaches it in Recharge Your Life and Harmonize Your Inner Rhythms. Research on breathing and heart rhythm keeps returning to this pace; most adults settle somewhere between 4.5 and 6.5 breaths a minute.

Which session should I start with?

For a full breath-led reset, start with Harmonize Your Inner Rhythms (2026). When life feels slightly off course, choose Frequency of Alignment. For a lift rather than a wind-down, try Recharge Your Life.

Do I have to follow along, or can I just listen?

These trauma-informed sessions are purposefully constructed to honor any nervous system. With any session follow the inner guidance your body offers you. Some days, arrive fully and follow the guidance. Other days, just listen, if that is what you need. Follow the breath cues when they help and let them go when they don't. There is no right way to listen and welcome alignment to your body.

How long are these sessions?

Most run 60 to 80 minutes, including a short talk at the start. Use the chapters on each replay to go straight to the guided meditation.
